my lovely french canadian friend mish put me onto thesixtyone.com and i've got to say i am very impressed. check it out if new music is your thing. there is just so much to like about this website, in particular the aesthetic and the dang good tunes. i particularly love when websites do the work for you who doesn't?, and thesixtyone is like that. 

i know how much i love hearing new music so i thought there might be others out there who feel the same. these tunes have been circulating my playlist a lot of late (the videos are nothing special, and some of them are just down right weird,  but it's just a good way to hear the songs)

here are just some little bits and pieces i have been swooning over of late

this chandelier is hand made, from wax paper. there is a tutorial on how to do it here. it has officially gone on my "things to do when i get sick/hurt/time off work" list. 

the list is rather long.

i also love this concept. it is so simple or one would think. again there is a tutorial showing you how to do it here but after attempting it, with a rather blunt stanley knife i have realised i need to upgrade my tools before i can master this one. i do love the idea though.

next time i have any reason to make any kind of party food, i am making these. they look awesome

and while i'm on the subject of food, how cool are these? i need an excuse to made these cupcakes, i can't just make them for the sake of it, because then i'll eat them, 

and we all know what happens after that.

and lastly, happened to catch the end of this song while driving home from the pool and just loved it. i am such a sucker for an acoustic guitar. randomly enough i actually went to school with one of the guys in this band. it's a cover of the naked and famous tune punching in a dream. i've listened to it about 23 times now

on saturday night we saw my new musical love 'milne' play at a little cafe called mars hill. their music takes my breath away. you can judge here for yourself. in my stupidity infinite wisdom i used my camera to record the song, but didn't do it properly, so it is just audio, no video. it's live so it's a bit rough, but still beautiful

my other musical love of late is noah gundersen. this song in particular is amazing
