i have never been one for follow through. in every by the way wednesday yes don't point out the irony to me here, i know BTWW didn't happen this week i see things i love and really want to buy/make for our home, but let's be honest, life, work, friends, pretty much anything with flashing lights, gets in the way.
recently i posted here that i really wanted to make a paper capiz shell chandelier similar to the one on design sponge. i put it on my sick/hurt/time of work list and there i thought it would stay. however, in a lucky turn of events i recently got my wisdom teeth out, which didn't just mean stitches and soup for five days, it meant i had time and motivation to make the chandelier.
and i have to say, i love it, it turned out really well. all that is required to make one is some wax paper, baking paper, an iron, scissors, white spray paint, a sewing machine and a hanging planter (i bought mine for a couple of dollars).
in total i think it was under ten dollars. if you are feeling crafty and want to make one yourself there is a tutorial here on design sponge however i sewed the wax paper capiz shells together rather than glued them onto ribbon.
