a friend of mine is getting married! which of course warrants an afternoon
of cake stands, glass candy jars, beautifully presented cakes and a truck load of gifts.
that basically sums up a kitchen tea
or maybe these photos sum up a kitchen tea
back when i got married (all of 12 months ago, i know) i wasn't into the whole kitchen tea/bachelorette party/wedding shower thing. in fact i requested not to have one.
instead i had three (not by my own doing).
while i was thankful, it was hard for me, but i have since come to realise that a shower is really just a chance to bless a friend and show how happy you are for them leading up to their special event (wedding/baby/bar mitzvah what have you).
hence forth i am now pro shower (of both the wet and dry variety)
any event that sees all your friends get together to eat cake is a-ok with me
post script
about twenty minutes ago i accidently
lit a plastic bag on the kitchen bench on fire
i just stood there staring at it saying
"oh no, nick, oh no, nick"
turns out
i suck under pressure
don't worry, we lived to tell the tale
